The latest iPhone currently has IP67 certification. The iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, X and Xr therefore become splashproof, water and dust resistant.
The IP67 degree of protection ensures a total waterproofness of these devices to the dust, they are also protected against the effects of the immersion up to 1 meter of depth, for a duration of maximum 30 minutes.
With the release of the iPhone Xs and Xs Max in September 2018, Apple took the opportunity to improve the tightness of these Flagship. IP68 certification, which, in addition to full dustproofing, also allows immersion in a liquid up to 2 meters deep for a maximum of 30 minutes.
To avoid any damage to your device, avoid these different uses:
- Immerse your iPhone voluntarily in any liquid substance.
- Use your iPhone in a humid environment such as a sauna.
- Damage your iPhone by any fall.
- Remove accessible screws from your iPhone or use iPhone without sim-tray.
The seal has been designed solely to protect your iPhone from any daily accident. Do not deliberately immerse your mobile (risk of real damage, and loss of warranty).
At the same time, we would like to inform our customers that in case of liquid damage, the warranty of your device will no longer apply.
